Friends of Mount Manresa to have float in St. Patrick’s Parade

By on February 20, 2017

On March 5 The Friend of Mount Manresa will be be riding a float down Forest Avenue in the Staten Island St. Patrick’s day Parade.

The Friends of Mount Manresa is a passionate group, dedicated to educating and keeping our community and political leaders up-to-date on overdevelopment issues, such as school overcrowding, lack of hospital beds, traffic, crime and flooding, that Staten Island residents are currently struggling with.  The goal of this group is to make sure the lessons of Mount Manresa are not forgotten.

This year the group is currently working on developing a book capturing Mount Manresa in photos and collecting the oral history with St. Mary’s church in Rosebank, which closed in 2016.  They are currently accepting membership in the group and would like to work with other organizations that share their mission to preserve and protect open spaces and historic places on Staten Island.

The parade begins at 12:30 pm on Forest Avenue.  For more information on how to sponsor the float, or participate with the Friend of Mount Manrea, contact Carol Salerno Labita, Committee VP
